The role that sound plays in our memories

I was watching a short documentary about one of my favorite movies, "A Complete Unknown,” that got me thinking when they spoke about the role that sound and music play in transporting the audience to the scene. Sounds are one of the most powerful triggers of memories and if you add music to it + cars, you can be relive great moments from your past. This had me thinking of the chime that my 1990 Nissan 300ZX makes when the door is open and how it transported me back to my post-high school days when I owned a 1989 Nissan 240SX that made the same sound. This brought back so many great memories of those times with friends and coming of age.

We recently added a question for our guests to share some of the music and radio stations they listened to when describing their cars from the past and we will be incorporating this into all upcoming interviews for the podcast. We hope you will continue to enjoy the show as we enhance our format!

Please send us a note if you have ideas on how to improve the show, want to be a guest or know someone who would be a great guest, or just want to tell us what you like about the podcast. We would love to hear from you!
